UL94 burning test
Flammability UL94 is the most widely used standard for the flammability of plastic materials. It is used to evaluate the ability of a material to extinguish after being ignited. According to the burning speed, burning time, anti dripping ability and whether the drop bead is burning, there are many ways to judge.

GRADE AND TEST METHOD
Level HB is horizontal combustion test;
V0,V1,V2,5VA,5VB for the vertical combustion test;
UL94 Vertical burning test for VTM-0,VTM-1,VTM-2 (for thin film materials);
UL94 Horizontal burning test of HBF,HF-1,HF-2 foams (for foams);
For injection molded parts, HB,V-2,V-1,V-0,5VB and 5VA flame retardant grades are commonly used, and the flame retardant grades increase step by step from HB,V-2,V-1,V-0 and 5VB to 5VA.
HB:UL94 standard minimum flame retardant rating. It is required that for samples 3 to 13mm thick, the burning speed is less than 40mm per minute; for samples less than 3mm thick, the burning speed is less than 70mm per minute; or it is extinguished before the 100mm mark.
V-2: After the sample was subjected to two 10-second combustion tests, the afterflame & afterburn was extinguished within 60 seconds. The dripping particles can ignite the cotton.
V-1: After the sample was subjected to two 10-second combustion tests, the afterflame & afterburn was extinguished within 60 seconds. The dripping particles do not ignite the cotton.
V-0: After the sample was subjected to two 10-second combustion tests, the afterflame & afterburn was extinguished within 30 seconds. The dripping particles do not ignite the cotton.
5VB: After the sample was subjected to five 5-second combustion tests, the afterflame & afterburn was extinguished within 60 seconds. The dripping particles do not ignite the cotton. For flake samples allowed to be burned through.
5VA: After the sample was subjected to five 5-second combustion tests, the afterflame & afterburn was extinguished within 60 seconds. The dripping particles do not ignite the cotton. For flake samples are not allowed to burn through.
